214. School Building

EBEKAWOPA, GHANA, 2011. School building made of bamboo, mud, and palm frond roof tiles. While the structure doesn't last all that long (maybe a couple of years), it's cheap. Hard, driving rains will wash away the mud unless it's protected with a stucco finish. The palm frond roof breathes nicely and makes little noise during a rainstorm--unlike the more expensive metal roofs.
