203. Cherelle

EBEKAWOPA, GHANA, 2011. Cherelles are small, immature cocoa pods. Only 10% of cocoa flowers make it to a cherelle and in the end, only 2% of cocoa flowers make it to a pod. The tree eliminates cherelles in a process known as "cherelle wilt".
