122. Shipping Beans

SAN PEDRO, COTE D’IVOIRE, 2006. Ship waiting in the San Pedro harbor to be loaded with exports, most of which are cocoa beans and logs of trees cut in the few remaining virgin forests. The sides are lined with containers filled with cocoa beans; these are gassed with methyl bromide to kill insects and their eggs.
