Part of our mission is to educate and to inform.  Another part is to help the farmers by distributing in-kind gifts.  With our tours--to Ivory Coast and to Ghana--we perform both functions while at the same time amortizing some of the delivery costs of the in-kind gifts. In August, 2006, Tom Neuhaus, PH&F's President, led the first tour--through a portion of the Western cocoa growing region.  Tom had successfully lured our first "tour-ist", Dale Landis, who paid to come along, and who, because of his experience as a kayaker and mountain climber, was perfect for the task.  Never once during the 8-day trip did Dale complain.  And, he turned out to be a veritable pied piper, spending hours with children, taking digital pictures and inspiring screams of delight.
